Antoon Gremyn (1712-1799) painted this vegetable market in ’t Pandreitje. A.D.
1778.
‘t Pandreitje is the name of the street but also the name given to the house of correction in the background, a prison until 1992. And last but not least, it is the name of today’s top-restaurant in the hause painted on the far left, built in 1740. Chef Guy Van Neste has developed the art of creative cooking since 1968, as an apprentice in the Brussels “Comme Chez Soi” and other famous places. Nowadays as a true master of fresh gastronomy: fresh fish, fresh meat, crisp vegetables.
